Cyril Audoin’s Bourgogne Rouge is Marsannay in disguise. He has no Bourgogne vineyards — the wine is made entirely from declassified young-vine fruit sourced from Marsannay village parcels, the same hallowed terroir as his more prestigious cuvées.

James Suckling describes the 2023 as leaping from the glass with sour cherry aromas — sleek, juicy, and joyful on the barely medium-bodied palate, with a hint of darkness that adds depth to the elegant finish. Made with gentle maceration and no new oak.

Pinot Noir grapes are carefully selected from vines around 40 years old, vinified and aged without new oak to allow full fruit expression — the result is a well-structured, characterful wine reminiscent of wines from far more prestigious appellations.
