Casa Lapostolle has been one of Chile’s benchmark producers since Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle — of the Grand Marnier family — founded the estate in 1994 with a commitment to letting terroir lead. The Grand Selection tier is built around a single idea: capture the freshness of the fruit — young, expressive, bright, and vivid.

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a special area in Cachapoal, directly beneath the foothills of the Andes, within the Rapel Valley. The vines grow under the cold influence of the mountains and express all the minerality of the vineyard’s unique stony soil — “Las Kuras,” meaning “stones” in the native language. The result is a white that feels more European in its restraint than most Chilean Sauvignon Blancs.

The nose is floral and shows real restraint — limes, white blossoms, and a touch of nectarines. Bone-dry and textured on the palate with bright acidity and good weight through the mid-palate. Nothing showy here. Pithy and gastronomic — James Suckling’s words, and 92 points. Vinous adds aromas of lime, mint, and yellow pepper, with a dry, rich, and slightly fatty mouthfeel that lingers on citrus tones.

Food-friendly, honest, and priced to drink without hesitation. Excellent with oysters, grilled fish, or a simple roast chicken. Drink now through 2026.
